Mark Slobin is Professor of Music at Wesleyan University and former president of the Society for Ethnomusicology. He has authored, edited, and translated fourteen books, two of which, on Jewish music, won the ASCAP-Deems-Taylor Award: Tenement Songs; The Popular Music of the Jewish Immigrants, and Fiddler on the Move: Exploring the Klezmer World.
